Question:
How much technology can a steel dock frame have in it? Answer: When you walk on a floating dock your legs and feet transmit a force equal to your body weight to each side of the dock as you walk, this motion is simply called "sway". The dock will bend and twist to compensate for the forces being imposed on it. There are a lot of factors that go into how much "sway" a dock will have, strength and elasticity of the material, structural design, and shape of the materials are just a few. Simply adding a "X" brace and saying the sway is gone is not true, in testing we found that a "X" brace actually didn't help reduce sway at all. Instead the technology is in the material and how much each section of material is allowed to stretch and compress. By minimizing the tension and compression of each independent run of material within the frame you can remove sway. This is how we developed the Anti-Sway floating docks system technology. One stroll down our docks and you will be amazed, only 1.5" of side to side sway at 24' out from shore is more then a 70% improvement to our nearest steel competitor and over 150+% improvement compared to aluminum dock systems! We at Pier Genius want to thank you for looking at our company and products and appreciate your business and support. |
